KYB Compliance Guidelines

This document outlines the guidelines for the types of businesses likely to meet the Know Your Business (KYB) requirements when using HIFI. KYB is managed through the POST /user/create endpoint. If the criteria detailed in this document are not met, the user object returned will be rejected by HIFI's compliance process.

Businesses must be legally registered and operational in their jurisdiction. The business operations should be transparent and easily verifiable. Compliance with all applicable local and international regulations is mandatory.


HIFI prohibits engagement with the following:

  • Illegal Activities: Any operations involved in unlawful activities or abuse.
  • Fraud and Deception: Activities that involve fraud or deceit.
  • Unregulated Gambling and Betting: Gambling operations lacking necessary licenses.
  • Restricted Financial Services: Such as unlicensed investment advisories or credit services.
  • High-Risk Products: Including counterfeit goods, unauthorized merchandise, and illegal drugs.
  • Adult Content and Services: Activities involving pornography or other adult content not compliant with legal age restrictions.
  • Investment or Credit Services: Offering these services without appropriate licensing or regulatory compliance.
  • Check Cashing and Bail Bonds: Operating these services without adhering to applicable laws and regulations.
  • Collections Agencies: Engaging in collection practices that do not comply with legal standards.
  • Drug Paraphernalia and Pseudo Pharmaceuticals: Distribution or sale of drug-related paraphernalia or substances designed to mimic illegal drugs.
  • Multi-Level Marketing (MLM): Operating or promoting MLM schemes that are not legally compliant.
  • Money Services: Running money service businesses such as currency exchange or wire services without proper authorization.
  • Elevated Financial Risk Businesses: Any business activities that, in the opinion of Bridge, pose a high financial risk, legal liability, or violate card network rules or bank policies.
